VILLAGE OF ST. JOSEPH PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING.
The follòwing commission members were present; Mrs. Robert Kèlly
( chI' . ) , M~ Ollie Lesnick, Mr. Bèn Kremer and Mr. Al Maleska (sec. )
Members of the village council attending the meeting v\Tere, Mr. George
Gustin (mayor) , Mr. Bob Johnson (Village Clerk) and Herman Sc~hneider.
The minutes from the meeting of Sept. 8 were read, and accepted as read.
Also attending the meeting was Senator Henry Harren of Albany, who
was invited to attend a Planning Commission meeting for purpose of
helping the Village in establishing a park. Mr. Harren stated that
it would ~$¡a very good idea to have the entire application for Federal
and State;fready to go by July 1, 1971, the beginning of the next fiscal
year. Inbluded in the application should be the clear option to buy
the land and the cost, how the park will be maintained, and 1'\Tho the
ovmers will be. Mr. Harren also stated that the park could be outside
the present village limits, he also suggested that the park not be
too large, as perhaps the Village would need a second park in a
another location in time to come. It was noted that the plans for
the park be first approved by the stearn County Planning Commispion
before making the application for funds. It was agreed that the area
west of the Village, at the Wated Creek was the most desirable, Mrs.
stated that she would take to a representative from St. Ben's the
owners of the property.
Mrs. Kelly reported that the nessary correpondence was completed,
with the Minn. Department of Manpower Services for the purpose of
conducting a labor survey for the st~ Joseph area.
Mrs. Kelly noted that her term, as well as that of f1r. Gapko, was
to expire as of Jan. 1, 1971 , and that the election of new officers
would be held at the first meeting of the new year. The members of
the Village Council present, immed:iB.iJ1.1y reapbinted Mrs Kelly and JVIr.
Gapko to new terms, Mrs. Kelly accepted.
