VILLAGE OF ST. JOSEPH, PLANNI NG COMMISSIO N MEETI NG.
The following commission members were present: Mrs. Margaret Kelly, (Chr.),
Mr. Ben Kremer, Mr. AI Maleska, Mr. Rudy Gapko, Mr. John Redmond, Mr. Ollie
Lesnick (sec.), and Mr. Roman Reber (council rep.)
Minutes of the June 28th meeting, were approved as read.
Chairman Margaret Kelly called the meeting to order to hear application for a
special use permit to construct a Mobile Home Court Park on a 30 acre site recently
annexed to the vi II age.
Mr. & Mrs. Mike Ives presented a outline of a proposed 150 unit court.
Mrs. Kelly raised the question of larger playgrounds. Ollie Lesnick felt a storm shelter
was important. Roman Reber was concerned about the increased traffi c crossi ng the
Rai I road tracks. He also stated if stop lights and arms were installed, the Village would
pay the major cost of installation.
John Redmond wanted to know if a study had been made as far as cost to the Village
I for the installation of sewer lines. Engineers would make a study of the plan.
Roman Reber felt storm sewers should be installed to avoid run off problems.
Motion made by Ben Kremer to grant a special use permit to Mr. & Mrs. Ives. Second by
Ollie Lesnick. Motion carried 5-1
A short discussion was held with Mr. Eller, Atty. for W. F. Honer. A 13 acre development
is being planned. Several errors were pointed out and the plans are to be represented.
Moved by Ben Kremer and seconded that the meeting adjourn.
Adjourned at 9:00 P.M.
