VILLAGE OF ST. JOSEPH, PLANNING COMMISSION MEETI NG
The following commission members were present: Mrs. Margaret Kelly, (Chr.),
John Redmond, Ben Kremer, AI Maleska, Rudy Gapko, Ollie Lesnick (Sec) ,
and Roma n Reber (Cou nci I Rep.)
Mi nutes of the Apri I 3rd meeti ng were approved as read.
Mrs. Kelly read a letter from the Village Attorney John Knapp concerning Merickel
Cons. Co. building pro. in Park Terrace Addition.
Col. Brummer recommended that the Vi II age contact the Burlington Northern R. R.
to see if they would donate the old depot to the village. It could be used for
Boy Scouts and many other purposes.
John Redmond reported that Honer's Addition Storm Sewer grade be changed from
1% - 4/10%.
Engineers states run off would not be severe as most people thi nk. The soil also
drai ns well because of its sandy make up.
AI Maleska reported on basement rental apartments.
St. Cloud ordinance require that a Rental Dwelling Registration is requested of all
rental property and charging a fee for each unit of rental property.
Motion was made by Ben Kremer and seconded that the Vi II age Counci I study a
registration ordinance and decide if it should be adopted.
League of Women Voters interviewed Roman Reber about existing conditions in St.
Joseph concerni ng sewer water used car lots and vi Ilage government.
Mrs. Kelly was to invite St. Benedi ct's to one of our meetings, to discuss the
possible annexation of St. Benedict's property to the village.
