The _ ~jt. Joseph Planning Ciommission met at the Village Hall on Monday, August 27
197";, at 8:30P.ìv1., \'Jith Bernard Kremers, Chairman, presiding.

Mr. Torberg reported that Gene ~cherer had asked ~t. Joseph Township to
rezone a strip of land on the south side of U . IS. 52, extend ing from the
County Road to Five points and ~artell, to the intersection of ti.I.52 with
old 52(no'tl Minnesota Avenue) from residential multiple dvJell ir,gs to commercial,
except for a piece of land approximately 225 feet by 300 ftet to be rezoned
light industrial, and to permit Gene ~cherer to erect a warehouse on the land
to be rezoned light industrial, said warehouse to be approximately sixty by
eighty feet with ample parking space provided.

to this l'e,:uest SiLce the Village had filed it's intention of keeping control
of develo?~ents within two miles of the Village.
Following considerable discussion, Mr. Gapko moved that tole Village Planning
Commission approve the rezoning of a piece of 1 and approximately223 ft. by
300 ft., from residential ':¡lÜtiple dVlelling to light industrial, Vlith the
remainder of the land ext'enl ing along the sou,th side of U.F.52, from the
county road to Five poin LS and ~artell, to the intersection of U.~.52 and
old 52, to be rezoned con~ercial. :Se,onded and carried unanimously.
Mr. Ryan reported thBt the £isters of the Order of ß~. Benedict were still
considering annexation to the Vi Hage of that portion of their land on \'lhich
buildings of the Co lege of ~~. Benedict aDd the ~ister's Residence were loca-
ted, and that they were awaiting the outcome of disc\c-ssions \.¡ith their
attorney.
Mr. Gapko moved adjournment. ~econded and carrid.
