ST. JOSEPH PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING
May 21, 1975
A special meeting of the st. Joseph, Minnesota Planning Commission was held at
the City Hall on Wednesday, May 21, 1975 at 7:45 p.m. Present at the meeting I
were: Commissioners Bernard Kremer, who chaired the meeting, and William Bruemmer,
Ronald Klein, and Paul Brinkman; and City Council Representative Hugo Weyrens.
The secretary read a proposal from Manor Enterprises, Inc. to the City of st.
Joseph, wherein Manor Enterprises would trade a parcel of land north of the sewage
treatment plant for a parcel of land presently owned by the City which runs along
the north side of Highway 52 just west of the sewage plant. Also contained in
the proposal is a gift to the City by Manor Enterprises of about sYz acres boarding
on the City park and the old City dump grounds north of Highway 52.
Various aspects of the proposal were discussed. The secretary read a letter from
the City engineer stating that he could see no major problems arising from the
trade, but that Mr. Rebischke of Manor Enterprises should be informed that there
will be an expansion of the sewage treatment plant, that the plant expansion may
come rather close to his property, and that there may be som odor on occasion in
the immediate vicinity of the plant.
It was moved by Mr. Bruemmer, and seconded by Mr. Klein, that the planning Comm-
ission make the following recommendation to the City Council: That the proposal
made by Manor Enterprises, Inc. , for a land trade with the City be accepted as
presented except that there should be no restrictions placed on the use of the
gift property of sYz acres other than that the City will agree not to sell this
land in the future without giving Manor Enterprises, Inc. first chance at pur-
chasing it. The motion passed unanimously.
Mr. Klein moved that the meeting be adjourned. Seconded by Mr. Bruemmer. I
Meeting adjourned at 9:10 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Paul Brinkman
Secretary
