ST. JOSEPH JOINT PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING
May 3, 1976
Members present: City - Ron Klein, Paul Brinkman, Ben Kremer, Mrs. Kelly, I
Mrs. Schroeder.
Township - Al Theisen, Erv Studer, Nick Froehle, Joe Bechtold,
Bob Fulton.
City Council Representative - Hugo Weyrens
st. Benedict's Representative - Mike Ryan
Ben Kremer chaired the meeting.
The secretary read the minutes and they were approved as read.
A question was raised regarding who has jurisdiction of the 18 sections sur-
rounding the City. The Township Board stated that the T.P.C. had jurisdiction,
and the J.P.C. and the C.P.C. did not. However, the C.P.C. felt they did have
some jurisdiction. Hugo Weyrens offered to look into the matter and check the
Joint Powers Agreement to see if it states the jurisdictional rights.
There was a brief discussion regarding the proposed extension of College Avenue
to the north side of Highway #52, but no serious issues were raised.
Also, there was a short discussion concerning the extension of the city sewer
across 90 feet of Township land on the north side, in order to provide sewer
service to Rockford's land. Again, no serious issues surfaced.
The meeting adjourned at 9:00 p.m. I
