ST. JOSEPH PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING
May 2, 1977
Members present: Chairman Ben Kremer, Ron Klein, Paul Brinkman, Mike Husen,
Marlene Schroeder.
ITEMS DISCUSSED:
1) Minutes approved. Marlene Schroeder made the suggestion that Mrs. Bob
Johnson be asked to type the minutes for each Planning meeting. Everyone
was in agreement.
2) Presentation of plat of Eastern Park--First Addition by a representative of
Honer Homes, Inc. Paul Brinkman recommended approval of final plat. Ron
Klein seconded. Recommendation carried.
3) Mike Husen informed Commission of future planning of sewer and water for
Cloverdale Estates.
4) Discussion of letter from Simon Brothers in reference to special use permit.
It was suggested that Mr. Baggenstoss be made aware that he needs a special
use permit also. Paul Brinkman moved that the Commission recommend to the
City Council to notify all home~operated businesses which are in violation
of existing ordinances (Section 5, Subdivision 2, 4, Paragraph 2) to apply
for special use permit (Section XI) within 30 days upon receiving notifi-
cation. Marlene Schroeder seconded. Motion carried.
5) Ben Kremer read list of possible criteria to set up an "alley closing"
policy. Discussion about closing alley north of Sal's and back of Brannan's
residence. Thomas Brannan is petitioning for the alley to be closed.
6) Mike Husen presented copy of ordinance on fencing from waite Park. He also
explained plans of blacktopping at the site of the new post office.
7) Discussion of summer recreation and use of st. Ben's tennis courts.
Meeting adjourned at 9:20 p.m. Ron Klein made the motion, Paul Brinkman seconded.
Marlene Schroeder assumed Bill Bruemmer's secretarial duties in his absence.
