ZONING BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT & APPEALS
Monday, August 8, 1977
Pursuant tò due call and notice thereof, the Board of Zoning Adjustment and
Appeals met in special session on Monday, August 8, 1977 at 7:30 p.m. in City
Hall to consider a request for variance from the requirements of Zoning Ordin-
ance No. 59 to convert the present V.F.W. building into a funeral parlor with-
out providing off-street parking as required by Ordinance upon converting,
erecting, enlarging, reconstructing or structurally altering the present build-
lng. The request for variance was presented by Thomas J. Williams, st. Cloud, MN.
Members Present: Chairman Ben Kremer, Margaret Kelly, Marlene Schroeder, Ron
Klein, Bob Johnson, Secretary. Mike Husen, Council Representative, was also
in attendance.
Others Present: Tom Williams, Al Johnson, Williams Funeral Home representatives -
V.F.W. representatives and eight other interested persons.
Hearing opened at 7:30 p.m. by Board Chairman Ben Kremer.
Tom Williams presented a plot plan and information relating to his firm's plans
for the structure.

1975 - 13, 1976 - 14, 4 in 1977 to date (15 average per year).
possible nearby future parking areas were examined -
Present structure contains 2280 sq. ft. - lot size 66' X 66' for a total of
4356 sq. ft. Area contains approximately 50% of the off-street parking necessary.
A number of persons voiced approval of a funeral parlor operation. No objections
were voiced to granting of the variance.
A motion was made by Ron Klein seconded by Margaret Kelly to recommend City
Council approve variance request of Mr. Tom Williams.
Ayes: Mrs. Kelly, Ron Klein, Ben Kremer.
Nayes: Marlene Schroeder. Motion carried 3 to 1.
Hearing adjourned at 8:25 p.m. on motion by Klein seconded by Kremer.
Motion carried.
