JOSEPH JOINT PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING December 5, 1977 I Members present: Marlene Klett, Virgil Lodermeier, Ben Kremer, Ron Klein, Mrs. Robert Kelly, Marlene Schroeder, and Mike Husen - Council representative. st. Joseph Township: June Rowland, Al Theisen, Joe Bechtold, Irv Studer, Polly Shulte. Mike Husen opened the meeting with some information of development. He explained some possibilities of zoning and annexation. He proceeded to explain the Commun- ity Block Development Grant for the East End Development. The group discussed the possibility of rezoning the property abutting Highway 152 South on the east end of st. Joseph. Mike Husen raised question of requirements of square footage per unit for multiple dwellings. He presented some requirements of other communities. The feeling of the group indicated that communication between the two groups was an important factor in planning development of st. Joseph. Monthly meeting of the st. Joseph Planning Commission began at 8:55 p.m. Rich Zwilling appeared before the Planning Commission to ask if he needed a spec- ial use permit to do electrical servicing in the evening. It was decided by the Commission that at this time his operation did not require a special use permit. I However, he is to appear before the Commission in two months if his situation changes. Two new members were welcomed to the Commission: Marlene Klett and Virgil Loderrneier. Marlene Schroeder brought up problem of people parking in frûnt of the post office for longer than the time designated. The new medical clinic was discussed. Cor.rections to the minutes read were: Mike Husen is a representative to the Commission from the Council. The minutes should have read that the motion was approved applying to Mr. Brannan. It was moved and seconded to reappoint Ben Kremer and Marlene Schroeder to the Planning Commission for three year terms. Motion made by Mrs. Kelly, seconded by Ron Klein. Motion approved. A discussion of fire safety in commercial buildings followed. Marlene Schroeder made a motion for the meeting to adjourn. Marlene Klett seconded. Motion carried. The meeting was adjourned.
