HomeMy WebLinkAbout[07a] Water Amenity Committee 7 (a) Council Agenda Item MEETING DATE: June 15, 2015 AGENDA ITEM: Water Amenity BOARD/COMMISSION/COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION: PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: The Council has previously discussed the water amenity and the costs associated. It was the consensus that a portion of the facility would need to include private funding through donations and the Council was receptive to the Water Amenity Committee soliciting funds for the proposed facility. The Council approved the design documents with a cost of $ 71,000 which is almost complete. The next set of documents that would be required are the construction documents which include a cost of $ 307,000. The Council previously discussed a site along CR 133 that could be used and questioned the buildability of the lot and if the property owner had any soil specific information. BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The Water Amenity Committee has prepared a brochure to be used when soliciting funds. The brochure was designed and donated by Gear Box with anonymous donations paying for the reproduction of the brochure. The property owner representative was contacted and they do not have any specific soil data. If the City were to move forward with this property, soil borings would need to be considered. A budget for soil borings is $ 6,000 to $ 8,000.
