Minutes of the St. Joseph Planning Commission
November 3, 1980
Members present: Ben Kremer, S. Kathleen Kalinowski, Art :Budde,
Tom Nahan, Phil Durkee, Hub Klein
Visitors: AI Kapsner, Leander Meyer, :Bill Pritchard, Jim Landwehr,
Don Landwehr, Mike Husen, Tom Javanovich, Joe :Bettendorf, Jerry Cyphers
The meeting was called to order at 1:30 p.m.
Consideration was given to granting a variance to Kapsner and Meyer
of St~ Joseph Mutual Insurance concerning the parking ordinance.
Sanitary sewer and water lines were discussed. Preliminary design
and lot blue prints were shown. Art :Budde moved that a recommendation
be sent to the City Council to grant a parking variance with the con-
di tion that the parking area be hard-surfaced and that the design of
the building facade be reviewed in one year to insure conformance
with the architectural motif of the downtown redevelopment. S. Kathleen
seconded the motion. It passed unanimously.
:Bill Pritchard asked if a hearing could be rescheduled for December 1
to consider the granting of a variance for set-back requirements of
buildings at Cloverdale Townhouses.
The Commission reviewed the draft of the Subdivision Regulations,
section 8.
The meeting was adjourned.
