Kathleen Kalinowski, Art Budde, Tom Nahan, Ben Kremer, Phil Durkee, Hub Klein' Visitors: Mike Husen (Council laison), Ted Duncan, Leroy Rebischki Meeting was called to order at 1:35 p.m. With regard to an inquiry by the College of St. Benedict concerning the placement of six students in a college-owned house, the Planning Commission desired to communicate to the City Council that the city ordinance does not allow more than five (5) unrelated people to occupy a rental unit, and that to change this pol ;ç I:f would require a change in the ordinance. ~ Ted Duncan asked for information about the installation of city water to the Krone property beyond the city limits on east Minnesota Street. Leroy Rebischki asked for information about the allowed land use of his lot on the northside of County 75, located just west of the John Eich property. He was particularly interested in building efficiency I apartments or a motel. The area, however, is zoned industrial. The College of St. Benedict has asked for a sign permit at the south- east corner of west Minnesota Street and 3rd Ave. N.W., i.e. at the main entrance to the College. The Commission recommends to CSB that it apply for a variance to the set-back requirements for signs in the R-2 zone. The Commission has no objection to the construction of the sign and foresees no compelling reason why the variance would not be granted. A letter from Tom Javanovich was read indicating plans for a public hearing to approve the Zoning Ordinance, Subdivision Regulations, and Official City map. Respectfully submitted, p<~ j)~ Phillip Durkee I
