Minutes of St. Joseph Planning Commission
December 5, 1983
Members present: Tom Nahan, Ben Kremer, Phil Durkee, Hub Klein

Meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m.
A question was raised about the legality of a large tent used as a shelter
for a large boat at a residence on S.W. 5th Ave. Such a structure would
violate the set-back regulations in the Zoning Ordinance. Roman Reber
stated that a permit was probably issued during his absence.
Dave Dropp has asked Ben what would be required legally in order to build
an additional unit onto the house on Old Hi 52 that is a rental building.
An additional unit would require a lot size of 12,450 square feet, but the
property only contains 10,312 square feet. Thus, a variance would have to
be requested, which Mr. Dropp may request from the Planning Commission.
In the Mobile Home Park, Roman Reber reported that a couple of landlords
are still in violation of not registering their rental units, they will
be sent another notice by certified mail.
