Kathleen Kalinowski, Art Budde, Ben Kremer, Hub Klein, Phil Durkee Others present: Robert Wagner, Ed Hiemenz, Romm1 Reber, Pete Rothfork, John Baklaich The meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. A public hearing of the Zoning Board of Adjustment and Appeals was called to order for the purpose of consider- ing a request for a three (3) foot variance from side yard requirements on the Robert Wagner property, 29 East Ash Street. The variance is for the construction of a garage. The property is identified as Lot 10, Block 13, Loso's Addition. Art Budde made a motion to recommend approval of the variance with the garage size not to exceed 20' X 40'. The motion was seconded and passed by a vote of 5-0. The public hearing was adjourned at 8:05 p.m. John Baklaich and Pete Rothfork 'vant to open a used car business on the Rothfork property immediately east of Hol18~der's Store. The inquired about procedures. A special use permit will be needed because the area is zoned industrial. A special public hearing to consider the request may be called for May 21. A pubic hearing was called to order at 8:35 to consider a request for a special use permit by Joe Town Auto to allow a used car business north of El Paso Club on property owned by C. and M. l1enzhuber. Owners and operators of the business are Tom Gustafson and Tom Botz. The public hearing was originally scheduled for 8:00 p.m. but was delayed because no one appeared for the hearing, including the persons who requested the hearing. A motion was made by Ben Kremer not to act on the request for a special use permit because no one was present to answer questionsand provide information which the Commission felt was necessary. A second part of the motion vlaS that the City Clerk notify Joe Town Auto that they are now in violation of the city ordinance by operating currently the stated business without a special use permit and that they may be in violation of state licensing statutes by not presenting a state application for siena- ture of the zoning authority whose jurisdiciton covers the above named site. The motion was seconded and passed by a vote of 5-0. Lot size coverage stipulations in residential zones was raised by Roman Reber and discussed by the Commission. Inspection of the Zoning Ordinance revealed that no limitation exists on lot size coverage by buildings or number of ac- cesso~J buildings or maximum size of accessory buildings. The consensus of the commission was that ordinances covering these items should be added. The minutes for April 2 were read and approved.
