Minutes of st. Joseph Planning Commission
September 10, 1984
I'1embers present: Hub Klein, Tom N&1an, Ben Kremer, Art Budde, Phil Durkee
Others present: Roman Reber, Mike Husen, John Scherer
Meeting was called to order at 7:40 p.m.
RomeD Reber raised a question about the setback requirements on a corner
lot, I.e. whether the 30-feot setback applied to' both streets of a corner
lot. Examination of the ordinaDce indicated that the 30-foot setback
applies to both streets regardless of which street a house and garage
are facing.
A request for information came from Ted Klein who owns the last lot on
the northside of Old Highway 52 (Lots 7 and 8, Blk. 2, Loso's 7th Add.).
His question was whether he could purchase the small triangle land now
owned by the county, adjacent to his property, end expand the size of his
dwelling used for rental. Klein's lot is now zoned R-3. The Oommission
agreed that a site pleD should be presented to the Commission in order
to determine if a request for a vari~nce is needed. Certain stipulations
from a rezoning hearing on June 20, 1983 were attatched to the property.
John Scherer presented some suggested changes in the ordinance requirements
for accessory buildings and detached commercial signs. The Commission
discussed the needed changes and will continue to review them at the next
meeting.
The meeting adjourned at 9:30 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
