The meeting was called to order at 7:40 p.m.
Mark Martini inquired about building a new structure beside his gas station
at the COl.'l1er of Ninnesota and NW 2nd .Ave. The lots involved are Lots 11 and
12 of Blk. 7. The block is now zoned R-3. The Con~~ssion recommended a special
public hearing for rez 01'1 in 3 the lots to co~nercial.
Ed Merkling representing Harold Rothfork and himself presented a request that
the Pla..nning Commission recommend to the City C01illCil that it Hould be "Tilling
to extend sewer and w~ter facilities to Lots 1,2,3, in Blk. 2 of the Rothfork
Adclition, the southern boundary of 1.¡hich is 500 feet from the City limits and
the lots being located immediately south of the DÐ~e Hollander house on the east
side of Co. 2. The extension of se1.¡er and "rater lines 1·TQuld be needed if an
adequate supply of potable 1.¡ater were no longer available and provided that the
limi tations of the City-facilities ,·TQuld not be exceeded. Hub Klein moved that,
since the Co~mission féels that residential use is the best use of thts land
parcel, the Planning Commission recommends that the City Council revim·, the land
use situation and consider the request. The motion ''las seconded Emd passed
u.rlanimously.
Pmendments to the zoning ordinance proposed by the city attorney John Scherer
"Tere revie\'Ted. One cha.."lge "las recormnended: to ch8Dge the maximum area
coverage of accessory buildings from Goo ft.2 to 800 ft.2, noting that the
defini tioD of "accesso2"J buildings" (section 4.01) includes atta~ched as well
as uI1attached garages.
