Minutes of St. Joseph Planni~ Co_ission
January 1, 1985

Others present: Steve Dehler, Ross Rieke, Roman Reber, Don Landwehr
Meeting was called to order at 7:)0 p.a.
Steve Dehler presented a plan for use of the «round floor of the house adjacent
to Linnemann I s store as an office by Midwest Health Services. The parki~
required. is allout 16 p!aces. The aaount of space in the Linnellann I s parki~
lot was jud.«ei to be adequate by the Coaa1ssion for the office needs. The
Co-.1ssion certified. the Dew use of the «round. floor of the house.
The minutes flllDll the ColÅ’ission aeetines for July 18 and November 6 were read
and approved.
Don Landwehr,representinc Ji. Neeser and Ted Duncan who own a lot between
E. Minnesota Ave. and County 15 at'--the point where 11th Ave. S.E. would 8e
construoted in the future, raised the question of whether 11th Ave. would
be built tlu:oU«h the property. The Comprehensive Plan indioates that
11th Ave. S.E. will proba'bly be a ainor arterial, brin&inc traffic onto
oounty 15. A 66-foøt wide strip south of Minnesota Ave. at that point has
been dedicated.. Don stated that the owners would like to know if the city
plans to 'buy their lot or whether they cøa build on the Jaot. Phil Durkee
movei to rece_end to the City Council that the City purchase the lot in
orier to preserve its future use as a ainor arterial. The aotion was
seconåed ani passed unanimously.
S. Kathleen .ovei that the Co_ission pass a resolution thanki~ Mike Husen
for !:lis work with the ~1a.nn1~ Co.liàsion. The motion was seoonded, passei,
and the secretary was askeli to write Mike a letter ef thanks.
