Minutes of St. Joseph Planning Commission
June 3, 1985
Members present: S. Kathleen Kalinowski, Art Budde, Phillip Durkee,
Ben Kremer, 'rom Nahan, Hub Klein
Visitors: Dale Schneider
. The meeting was called to order at 7:35 p.m.
Dale .Schnider submitted a plan for constructinß an eight-foot high
board fence behind Salls Bar and Cafe for use as an outdoor seating
area for patrons. He requested a building permit. Art Budde
moved to recommend the granting of a building permit for the fence
under the following conditions 10r the fenced area: no bar, no
drinks served, no music played. The motion was seconded and passed.
The Commission Minutes from May 6 were read and approved.
From correspondence between the City Council and the Landwehrs, the
issue of whether the Landwehrs had or had not agreed to pay the
City a lwap sum of cash in.lieu of designated park land from the
Clinton Village Addition was discussed. An examination of Planning
Commission Minutes from March 7, 1983, and also Febrl.! ary 7 and
March 14, 1983 as additional background, indicated that the City
and the Landv¡ehrs had a[';reed that the Lan(h·¡ehrs vJculd pay c:l.sh in
lieu of a park area for Lots 6 and 7.
