She wants to build a garage extension on her home located at 302 E. Ash. Other residents along 3rd Ave. N.E. have homes or garages of a similiar set-back. S. Kathleen moved to recommend approval of the variance as requested. The motion was seconded and passed unanim~ ously. The hearing was closed. Ben called a second public hearing to order at 8:00p.m. to consider a request brought by Tim Stang for a 4-ft variance to the front yard setback for a proposed garage. The garage will be approximately 27ft x 21ft. The width of the garage is restricted by a side-yard stub sewer line. Back door concrete steps attached to the house footings preclude the parking of two cars in the garage beside the steps. Thus, the garage must be extended forward in order to provide suffic- ient room for parking and getting out of the cars. Art moved to I recommend approval of the variance as requested. The motion was seconded and passed una~mously. The hearing was closed. Louis Waltz representing Mike Scheree inquired about the possibility of requesting annexation into the City of the property on which' Scherer Trucking is located and to gain rezoning of the property to Industrial as is indicated on the official City Zoning map. The Commission saw no problem in making the request. The meeting was adjourned at 8:45 p.m. Respectfully submitted, f~ /)~ Phillip Durkee I
