HomeMy WebLinkAbout1988 [09] Sep 12 MINUTES OF THE ST. JOSEPH PLANNING COMMISSION September 12, 1988 Members present: S. Kathleen Kalinowski, Art Budde, Ben Kremer, Phil Durkee Others present: Ross Rieke (Council laison) Ben called the meeting to order at 7:35 p.m. A discussion centered around Joe Bettendorf's letter from March recommending that the Planning Commission consider increasing the minimum frontage on new lots to 80 feet, expanding the minimum lot size when utility easements run across it, and enlarging the minimum lot size beyond 10,000 ,quare feet. S. Kathleen moved to recommend to the Council that the Zoning Ordinance be amended so that the minimum lot width equal 80 feet. This entails the following changes: 1) p. 125, Subd. 5: change paragraph c) to read: "Minimum width of 80 feet and an average depth of not less than 110 feet." 2) p. 129, Subd. 5: change paragraph e) to read: "minimum width of 80 feet." 3) p. 132, Subd. 5: change paragraph e) to read: "Each 1 ot sha 11 have a minimum width of 80 feet at the public right-of-way." 4) p. 168, Subd. 4: change paragraph a) so that the numbers in the first sentence are 80 feet instead of 65 feet. The motion was seconded and passed unanimously. Easements on new lots did not seem to be a problem since they are usually placed on the edge of new lots. To enlarge the minimum lot size from 10,000 square feet did not seem needed to the Commission at present since most new lots being platted are larger than that. The Minutes from August 1 were read and approved. The meeting was adjourned. Respectfully submitted, fk~ ¡J~~ Phil 1 i p Durkee
