Joseph Planning Commission March 6, 1989 Members Present: Sr. Kathleen Kalinowski, Art Budde, Ben Kremer, Tom Nahan, Hub Klein and Mike Roach. others Present: Ron Euteneuer (Building Inspector), Ross Rieke (Council Liason), Mike Duetz, Dale Salo and Clayton McCall. The meeting was called to order by Ben Kremer at 7:30 p.m. Mr. Euteneuer met briefly with the members regarding planning policy and procedures. He also presented samples of various building permit forms that he would like the City of st. Joseph to adopt for future use. Mr. Salo presented the Planning Commission with the final building site plan for the Cloverdale Estates 5th Addition. The plan follows the original preliminary plan and will complete the development of Outlot A. A motion was made by Sister Kathleen and seconded by Hub Klein to recommend approval. Mr. McCall of the Minn. Logo Sign Group appeared and requested approval to erect a sign somewhere in the downtown area to give directions to the 76 station owned jointly by Mike Duetz. Mr. Duetz advertises his station on Interstate 94 and under the Minn. Trail Alazer Act, the law requires a secondary sign within the City limits to further direct travelers to his station from 1-94. Discussion followed as to sign placement and who would own and maintain the sign which would be located on City property. Ben Kremer made a motion to recomment approval and Mr. McCall should work out the final details with the City council as to actual placement and maintenance, seconded by Tom Nahan.
