Quarterly Meeting
Fire Advisory Board
Wednesday, February 1, 1978
The St. Joseph Fire Advisory Board met in City Hall on Wednesday, February 1,
1978 for a regular quarterly meeting pursuant to due call and notice thereof
at 8 p.m.
Members Present: Herman Schneider, Del Terwey, Mike Loso, chairman, Bob
Johnson, City Clerk.
Minutes presented: Chairman Loso read the minutes of the laBt meeting held on
November 2, 1977. The minutes were approved on motion by Schneider seconded
by Terwey. Ayes: All Nayes: None. Motion carried.
Pager Report: Presented by Chief Loso indicated 6 Pager units were issued and
operating. Loso also indicated two fire calls we~e reported since the
voice and tone pagers were placed in operation and were working well.
-- 4 th Quarter
~ Financial Report: City Clerk presented the 4th quarter Joint Fire Operating
Fund report for 1977.
Fire Reserve Fund: Amotion was made by Schneider seconded by Terwey to open
a new bank account and deposit $2,000. yearly starting no later than
February 15, 1978. The new fund shall be called the Fire Equipment
Reserve Fund. These funds shall be invested from time to time as the
Board may decide. Ayes: All Nayes: None. Motion carried.
Quarterly Report
Approved: A motion was made by Terwey seconded by Schneider to approve
the 4th quarter financial report as presented. Ayes: All Nayes: None.
Additional Pagers: Fire Chief Loso submitted a request for 13 additional
voice and tone pagers and an encoder for installation at the Fire station.
The additional encoder would act as back up for. the unit installed at
the St. Bens power house and would also permit calls without use of St.
Bens encoder unit. (Drills, meetings, etc.) Estimated cost: $4,000
to $4,500.
Personal Equipment
Request: 2 sets coats, boots, helmets were requested by the Fire
Chief to complete required number of sets. Estimated cost: $275.00.
A motion was made by Schneider and seconded by Terwey to approve purchase
. of the personal equipment. Ayes; All Nayes: None. Motion carried.
Adjournment: A. .motion for adjournment was made by Terwey and seconded by
Schneider at 9:35 p.m. Ayes: All Nayes, Non~otion carried.
