Fire Pension Fund Informational Meeting
November 16, 1981
An informational meeting relating to Fire Pension Fund was held in
st~ Joseph Township hall on Monday, November 16, 1981 at 7:30p.m.
The following persons were present:
City Officials: Mayor Hugo B. Weyrens; Councilmen: Herman Schneider,
Bud Reber, Steve Dehler, Mike Husen; City Clerk, Bob Johnson.
Township Officials: Chairman, Fred Reber; Supervisors: Joe Bechtold,
Norm Scherer; Township Clerk, Dave Thralow.
Fire Dept. Personnel: Chief, Mike Loso; Ken Twit, Dick Taufen, Joe
Prom and other fire personnel numbering approximately 8 or 10.
. CPA Tom Murray and Marie Brand, representing the Murray firm were also
present.
Tom Murray presented information relating to pensions and State Statutes.
A question and answer period followed until adjournment at 9:30 p.m.

The Town Board indicated a written recommendation will be sent to the
City regards level of pension fund increase. The City Council will at that
time make their determination and approve the amount of fire pension fund
increase.
The projection of fund assets and liabilities, minimum funding require-
ments were examined at the following lump sum payment levels st~rting with
the current payment level of $6,000 -8,000 - 9,000 - 10,000 and 12,000.
The fire department had submitted request for a pension fund increase from
$6,000 to $12,000.
