FIRE BOARD MEETING
November 16, 1983
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof the Fire Advisory Board of the
City and Township of st. Joseph met in session on Wednesday, November
16, 1983 at 8:00 p.m. in the City Clerk's office.
Members Present: Town representative, Joe Bechtold; City representative,
Herman Schneider; Fire Chief, Dick Taufen; City Clerk, Bob Johnson.
Minutes Presented: A motion was made by Bechtold seconded by Schneider to
approve board minutes of the September 15, 1983 meeting as presented.
Ayes: Bechtold, Schneider, Taufen.
Nayes: None Motion carried.
Quarterly Financial Report: The quarterly financial report for July 1 to
October 1, 1983 was approved on motion by Bechtold seconded by Schneider.
Ayes: Bechtold, schneider, Taufen.
- Nayes: None Motion carried.
-- Mutual Aid: Area - Avon application for mutual aid examined and discussed.
Vote to be taken by Mutual Aid Association in January. A motion was
made by Schneider seconded by Bechtold to approve Avon membership in
Mutual Aid group.
Ayes: Bechtold, Schneider, Taufen.
Nayes: None Motion carried.
Capital Outlay Requests for 1984: Board reviewed fire department capital
outlay and salary requests for 1984.
Salary Increase: A motion was made by Bechtold seconded by Schneider to
recommend approval of the Fire Department salary increase request from
$6.00 per hour to $7.00 for fire calls effective January 1, 1984.
Ayes: Bechtold, Schneider, Taufen.
Nayes: None Motion carried.
Capital Outlay Requests: A motion was made by Bechtold seconded by Schneider
to approve purchase of the following OSHA required safety equipment:
1) ladder butt covers
2) overhead door openers
3) ladder cage
Include door replacements if examination by inspector indicates need
at this time.
Ayes: Bechtold, schneider, Taufen.
