JOSEPH, MINNESOTA 56374 MEMBER LEAGUE OF MUNICIPALITIES FIRE BOARD MEETING NOVEMBER 4, 1987 Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the Fire Advisory Board of the City and Township of St, Joseph met in regular session on Wednesday, November 4, 1987 at 8:00 p,m, in City Hall Annex. MEMBERS PRESENT: Town Representative Joe Bechtold; City Representative Leo Sadlo, Fire Chief Dick Taufen; City Clerk/Adm. Rachel Stapleton. MINUTES: Minute of the August 5, 1987 meeting were approve as presented with a motion by Bechtold; seconded by Sadlo. Ayes: Bechtold, Sadlo, Taufen. Nayes: None. Motion carried. - QUARTERLY FINANCIAL REPORT: Quarterly financial report was - approved with a motion by Sadlo; seconded by Bechtold. Ayes: Bechtold, Sadlo, Taufen. Nayes: None. Motion carried, FIRE SIGNS: Bechtold discussed fire signs for new residences, with the 911 system in operation. The Fire Department will continue to give out fire numbers until the supply is gone because they will be needed for a while with the dual system in operation. FIRE CHIEF REPORTS: Chief reported on 1 ) The Fire Chiefs Convention in Grand Rapids, topics discussed were: proposing a yearly physical for all fire personnel, and must possess a Class B driver's license; and a physical fitness program was proposed. Also discussed were the requirements for various fire fighting equipment. 2) 911 system is now operational but Stearns County will be getting new equipment, as part of the implementation of the system, which will require us to get new pagers which may cost about $20,000.
