JOSEPH, MINNESOTA 56374 MEMBER LEAGUE OF MUNICIPALITIES FIRE BOARD MEETING May 11, 1988 Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the Fire Advisory Board of the City and Township of St, Joseph met in regular session of Wednesday, May 11, 1988 at 8:00 p,m. in City Hall Annex. MEMBERS PRESENT: Town Representative Joe Bechtold, City Representative Leo Sadlo, Fire Chief Richard Taufen, City Clerk/Adm. Rachel Stapleton, MINUTES: Minutes of the February 3, 1988 meeting were approved as presented with a motion by Sadlo; seconded by Bechtold. Ayes: Bechtold, Sadlo, Taufen. Nayes: None. Motion carried. QUARTERLY FINANCIAL REPORT: Sadlo made a motion to approve - the quarterly financial report; seconded by Bechtold. - Ayes: Bechtold, Sadlo, Taufen. Nayes: None. Motion carried, FIRE CHIEF REPORTS: 1) 911 System: Stearns County equipment for 911 is not in yet and they do not know when it will be installed. 2) The Federal Government has passed legislation requiring all Fire Truck drivers to have a Class B drivers license, and will set up controls on it, Those firemen who do not have a Class B license will have to get one in order to qualify to drive the trucks. 3) Radio Equipment: Fire Chief reported that he is reviewing what equipment is needed to be compatible with the 911 system, in order to be fully in contact with Stearns County, FIRE PHONE: The Board agreed to use the City Clerk's phone number as an administrative fire number, with a separate listing in the phone book, this fall, . ~. ~ . ~ - FIRE PHONE EMPLOYEES: May 22 the power plant at St. Ben's goes on two shifts, and St. Ben's informed the City that we will have to hire employees to cover the time from 8:00 p.m. to 4:00 a,m. daily, The Board approved the wage to be set at $5.00 per hour. Taufen and Sadlo will review the applicants on Tuesday and hire employees to cover the daily night shift as required. ADJOURN: Bechtold made a motion to adjourn at 9:18 p.m,; seconded by Sadlo.
