Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the Fire Advisory
Board of the City and Township of st. Joseph met on
Monday, November 14, 1990 at 8:00 p.m. in city Hall Annex.
MEMBERS PRESENT: Town Representative Joe Bechtold, City .
Representative Leo Sadlo, Fire Chief Richard Taufen, City
Clerk/Administrator Rachel Stapleton.
MINUTES: Bechtold made a motion to approve the minutes of the
August 20 1990 meeting; seconded by Sadlo.
Ayes: Bechtold, Sadlo, Taufen.
Nayes: None. Motion carried.
FIRE CHIEF REPORTS: 1) Capital outlay items have all been
ordered and nearly all received. The Lioness donated funds of
$2880 for equipment. 2) The Fire Department would like to do
a ma i 1 i ng to all 2855 properties within the fire service area,
to get individual characteristics on each property. Costs
. would included a postal permit, postage, copies, etc. at
$537.52 and labor to process returned information, at $5 per
hour, about 250 hours. Sadlo made a motion to approve the
costs of the mailing as requested, but costs are to be applied
to 1991 budget; seconded by Bechtold.
Ayes: Bechtold, Sadlo, Taufen.
Nayes: None. Motion carried.
3) Chief reported that he attended the Fire Chiefs' Conference
in Duluth and received a lot of information on restrictions
and requirements for Fire Departments.
4) County will be offering, and the State recommends
immunizations of Hepatitis B serum, for protection of
hepatitis and associated viruses, for all Firefighters,
which will cost about $89 each, for the serum.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:55 p.m.
