. Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the Fire Advisory
Board of the city and Township of st. Joseph met on
Wednesday, May 8, 1991 at 8:00 p.m. in City Hall Annex.
MEMBERS PRESENT: Town Representative Joe Bechtold, City
Representative Leo Sadlo, Fire Chief Richard Taufen, City
Clerk/Administrator Rachel Stapleton.
MINUTES: Bechtold made a motion to approve the minutes of
the February 6, 1991 meeting as presented; seconded by
Sadlo.
Ayes: Bechtold, Sadlo, Taufen.
Nayes: None. Motion carried.
QUARTERLY FINANCIAL REPORT: Sadlo made a motion to approve
the first quarter financial report as presented; seconded by
Bechtold.
Ayes: Bechtold, Sadlo, Taufen.
Nayes: None. Motion carried.
st. Benedicts contribution to fire protection of $5,000 was
received. The Board generally agreed to allocate the donation
to the Equipment Fund.
OLD BUSINESS: 1) The proposal to give HIV shots to the
. firefighters, is still being worked out.
2) A three button switch with a warning plate was installed,
for control and operation of the overhead doors. This was
an alternative, allowed by the risk control representative
of the insurance company, to the requested installation of
pressure sensitive doors. Requested wheel chucks and
anti-fall device are being worked on.
3) Chief presented a proposed application for applying for the
position of firefighter. The Fire Board was in general

4) Chief requested that the Fire Department be allowed to hold
a morale building picnic as recommended by the city 1'\'1..'< X ,'m c.(. """ Q M,o.....¡
auditor. Bechtold made a motion to approve the request to 1; :f"O 0
hold a picnic for morale building purposes; seconded by
Sadlo.
Ayes: Bechtold, Sadlo, Taufen.
Nayes: None. Motion carried.
NEW BUSINESS: Chief requested to revamp the truck with two
tanks, to use the tanks for storage of equipment needed on the
truck. There would still be foam available on the truck, but
it would be in smaller containers. Installing a hinged cover
on the tank would allow for use of storage or foam. Sadlo
made a motion to approve the alteration of the tank as
proposed; seconded by Bechtold.
