Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the Fire Advisory
Board of the city and Township of st. Joseph met on
Wednesday, August 7, 1991 at 8:00 p.m. in City Hall Annex.
MEMBERS PRESENT: Town Representative Joe Bechtold, City
Representative Leo Sadlo, Fire Chief Richard Taufen, City
Clerk/Administrator Rachel Stapleton.
MINUTES: Bechtold made a motion to approve the minutes of
the May 8, 1991 meeting as amended, to state that the maximum
amount to be expended for the morale building picnic is to be
$500: seconded by Sadlo.
Ayes: Bechtold, Sadlo, Taufen.
Nayes: None. Motion carried.
QUARTERL Y FINANCIAL REPORT: Bechtold made a motion to approve
the second quarter financial report as presented; seconded by
Sadlo.
Ayes: Bechtold, Sadlo, Taufen.
Nayes: None. Motion carried.
FIRE CHIEF REPORTS - OLD BUSINESS: 1) Wheel chucks and anti-
fall device have been installed, as recommended by the loss
. control consultant from the insurance company.
2) Fire apparatus was serviced last week.
3) The County will get the serum for the H I V preventative
shots for the Firefighters. More information will be
available later.
4) The revamping of the tank, as requested at the last
meeting, is nearly completed.
NEW BUSINESS:
1) Chief's conference is October 17-20. The Board was in
general agreement that the Chief should attend.
2) Civil defense siren was discussed. Mayor Dehler had
approached the Chief to ask if the Joint Operating Fire Board
would consider purchasing of the Roske property. The Board
discussed long range plans, and agreed that the current fire
hall will probably be in use for a few years minimum.
Therefore, the interior of the fire hall should be painted.
CAPITAL OUTLAY AND BUDGET: Chief presented estimated needs
for 1992; gloves, fittings, rope bags, and coats. A 1so the
Board reviewed the proposed budget for 1992 at $101,308.
Sad10 made a motion to approve the budget of $101,308, and
$12,000 for capital outlay, with total City and Township
payments of 85,000; seconded by Bechtold.
Ayes: Bechtold, Sadlo, Taufen.
Nayes: None. Motion carried.
Sadlo made a motion to adjourn at 9:45 p.m; seconded by
- Bechtold.
Ayes: Bechtold, Sadlo, Taufen.
Nayes: None. Motion carried.
