Joseph met on Wednesday, February 5, 1992 at 8:00 p.m. in City Hall Annex. MEMBERS PRESENT: Town Representative Joe Bechtold, City Representative Leo Sadlo, Fire Chief Richard Taufen, City Clerk/Administrator Rachel Stapleton. MINUTES: Bechtold made a motion to approve the minutes of the November 27, 1991 meeting; seconded by Sadlo. Ayes: Bechtold, Sadlo, Taufen. Nayes: None. Motion carried. QUARTERLY FINANCIAL REPORT: Bechtold made a motion to approve the quarterly financial report as presented; seconded by Sadlo. Ayes: Bechtold, Sadlo, Taufen. Nayes: None. Motion carried. FIRE CHIEF REPORTS - OLD BUSINESS: 1) Chief stated that the City Engineer approved Glidden brand paint for the Fire Hall. 'JJ The Chief will check on quality of painting done by the low b, ~,'Mj e-entractor prior to painting the Fire Hall. 2) Most of the Capital Outlay items have been received. . 3) The percentage of ca 11 s per township or city is very close to the percentage of cost spread among the participating ,governments. NEW BUSINESS: 1) A $5,000 donation from st. Benedict's was received. Bechtold moved to put $3,500 in the operating budget and $1,500 in the equipment fund; seconded by Sadlo. Ayes: Bechtold, Sadlo, Taufen. Nayes: None. Motion carried. 2) Capital outlay budget items for 1992 were presented by the Chief. Bechtold made a motion to approve the capital outlay budget items as presented; seconded by Sadlo. Ayes: Bechtold, Sadlo, Taufen. Nayes: None. Motion carried. 3) Dan Weber, representing St.John's University, has requested the st. Joseph Fire Department to consider covering their fire calls, only. Financing of this service along with other matters would have to be negotiated, if this would be approved. The Chief also discussed that st. John's and st. Joseph have a mutual aid agreement and that st. Joseph would cover st. John's under it. Also was questioned if st. Joseph would have the right to cover st. John's or if it is in another Fire Department's area. The Board asked the Chief to look into the matter further. ...,. · . J.. Page 92-2 ......... Sadlo made a motion to approve the administrative fees of the - City of st. Joseph for the year 1991 (four percent of the adjusted expenses), of $1,884.66; seconded by Bechtold. Ayes: Bechtold, Sadlo, Taufen. Nayes: None. Motion carried. FIRE CHIEF REQUESTS: 1) Need to order HIV vaccine from Stearns County Health Services, because they only order twice a year. Expected cost of vaccine is $95 each, and 16 firefighters have indicated that they will take it, total cost of vaccine is $1,520. 2) Chief requested to allow four Firefighters t~ attend State Fire School. The Board was in general agreement to allow all the Fire Chief requests. Sadlo made a motion to adjourn at 9:26 p. m. ; seconded by Bechtold. Ayes: Bechtold, Sadlo, Taufen. .Nayes: None.
