- Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the Fire Advisory Board of the
City and Township of St. Joseph reconvened the special session and met
with the Fire Hall Building Committee Representatives on Tuesday, June
7 , 1995 at 8:00 p.m. in City Hall.
MEMBERS PRESENT: Town Representative Joe Bechtold, City Representative
Bob Loso, Fire Chief Dave Theisen, John Meyer, and Bernie Schloemer.
Chief Dave Theisen called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m.
FIRE CONTRACTS: The Board reviewed the current St. Wendel Township
contract document for updating and proposed changes prior to expiration
and renegotiation of the contract. Bob Loso made a motion to approve
the changes and corrections to the draft contract as agreed on by the
Board; seconded by Joe Bechtold.
Ayes: Bechtold, Loso, Theisen.
Nayes: None. Motion carried.
At 9:00 p.m. John Meyer and Bernie Schloemer arrived.
ARCHITECTS: The Board discussed the interview results from the previous
evening. Bob Loso made a motion to eliminate Rieke, Carroll and Muller
Associates due to additional cost, including the distance from the City,
which would increase the total cost. Additionally RCM provided more
detailed service than is needed. The motion was seconded by Joe
Bechtold.
Ayes: Bechtold, Loso, Theisen, Schloemer, Meyer.
Nayes: None. Motion carried.
After further discussion Bob Loso made a motion to recommend contracting
with Hagemeister & Mack Architects for the new Fire Hall, but reserve
the right to consider alternative mechanical engineers and negotiate the
cost to a fixed fee. The Cole Group was eliminated because of
inadequate similar experience and ¡ess staff and resources. The motion
was seconded by Joe Bechtold.
Ayes: Bechtold, Loso, Theisen, Schloemer, Meyer.
Nayes: None. Motion carried.
Dave Theisen moved to adjourn at 10:10 p.m.; seconded by Bob Loso.
Ayes: Bechtold, Loso, Theisen, Schloemer, Meyer.
Nayes: None. Motion carried.
