The Fire Advisory Board of the City and Township of St. Joseph
met in special session on Thursday, August 14, 1997 at 8:00
p.m. in the St. Joseph City Hall.
MEMBERS PRESENT : St. Joseph Township Representative Joe
Bechtold, City Representative Bob Loso, Fire Chief Dave
Theisen, City Clerk/Administrator Rachei Stapleton. St. Wendel
Township Representative Richard Schleper.
OTHERS PRESENT: Deputy Clerk Judy Weyrens.
Chie£Dave Theisen called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m.
with all members present and stated the purpose of the meeting
is to consider the 1998 Fire Budget.
1998 JOINT OPERATING FIRE BUDGET: The Board discussed all
areas of the 1998 proposed budget. The operation and
maintenance costs for the new facility are unknown and
estimated. Use of the spare bay for City Maintenanca storage in
· return for snow plowing and lawn maintenance was suggested.
Specific items for the new Fire Station were discussed as well
as the Capital Outlay equipment needs.
Bechtbld made a motion to approve a total operating budget of
$186,815 plus $15,942 for Equipment Reserve. The 1998 cost of
the Fire Station debt, $104,378, will be additional.
Bechtold made a mqtion to adjourn at 9: 45 p.m.; seconded by
Loso.
Ayes: Becht.old, Loso, Theisen.
Nays: None. Motion carried.
