RIEKE: CORE Committee met 3.nd discussed rollerblading. They felt
t.he only way to control it is to prohibit it. on t.horoughfares.
Project. AWARE was discussed to get community involvement. State
of the sidewalks were discussed. Mayor a.sked Rieke to set. up a
plan for a. Pub I i c Sa.fety Sidewalk dist.riet.. Then the City would
replace or repair sidewalks within that area.
HAZEN: 1) Planning Commission met and recommended to Counc i I to
vacat.e the west 1/2 of West street. Propert.y owner, Ted Klein,
wi I I be requesting a variance for this property and adjoining
property in Apr i I . He wi I I be request.ing rezoning for part. of
this property also. Rieke made a motion to waive the lesser of
the t.wo fees for Ted Klein, if he requests a hearing on rezoning
a.nd for a variance at t.he sa.me meet.ing. The mot.ion wa.s seconded
by Sadlo.

CITY ENGINEER REPORTS - SEAL COATING: Joe Bettendorf, City
Engineer. presented a plan for seal coat.ing as worked out by the
Street Commissioner, Supt. of Pub I i c Works, and Engineer to seal
coat. Cl inton Village, ParI< Terrace, and Second Avenue NW this year
with a cost est.im3,te of $15,750, including engineering and
const.ruction. Loso moved to approve the seQl.l coa,ting plan for
1992. seconded by Rieke.
Discussion - Counc i I discussed the need of t.he al ley from First
Avenue NW to First Avenue SE, bet\.¡een Minnesota Street and Ash
Street needs seal coating also, cost $1,700.
Vote on plan to include a I ley, total cost estimat.e $17.500.
