MEMBERS PRESENT: Mayor Mike Loso. Members of the Council: Steve Dehler, Leo Sadlo, Ross Rieke. Deputy Clerk Judy Weyrens. Counc i I Member Donald "Bud" Reber absent. OTHERS PRESENT: Stuart Goldschen, Ken Twit, Bob Koltes, Jim Kacures. APPROVE AGENDA: Sadlo made a motion to approve the agenda with additions; seconded by Dehler. Ayes: Loso, Dehler, Sadlo. Nayes: None. Motion Carried. TREASURERS REPORT: Dehler made a motion to table the treasurers report; seconded by Sadlo. Ayes: Loso, Dehler, Sadlo. Nayes: None. Motion Carried. MAYORS REPORT: Presented a proposed Ordinance limiting activities in pub I i c easement. After discussion, the Counc i I requested the City Clerk have the City Attorney revise the I proposed ordinance making it more distinct. Counc i I Member Rieke arrived at 8:00 p.m. COUNCIL REPORTS: SADLO: 1) Kennedy project is going we I I . 2) The main bearing for one of the fire truck pumps is in need of repair, with the estimated cost between $1500 - $2000 RIEKE: The sub committee of the Planning Commission met on Ju I y 16, 1990 to discuss a possible community survey. DEHLER: The park board met and recommended the following: 1) The placement of two picnic tables in mornings ide park. Dehler made a motion to approve the purchase of two concrete picnic tables from BreMix for $315; seconded by Rieke. Ayes: Loso, Dehler, Sadlo, Rieke. Nayes: None. Motion Carried. 2) The placement of 25' x 25' sandboxes in Ho I low park tot lot and Cloverdale tot lot. The cost of both sandboxes is $1380. Dehler made a motion to approve the construction of one sandbox, to be placed at the Cloverdale tot lot; seconded by Sadlo. Ayes: Loso, Dehler, Sad la, Rieke. Nayes: None. Motion Carried. Dehler also reported on the Centennial. Idelia Loso would I like the City Council to be part of the Centennial parade. FIRE RELIEF ASSOCIATION: Ken Twit, treasurer of the St. Joseph Fire Department Re lie f Association appeared before the Counc i I to present their request for the needs of the fire relief association for 1991 of $7,078. BOB KOLTES - NSP: Bob Koltes, representing NSP appeared before the Counc i I to request the placement of a self supporting power pole, 18" in diameter, in the City boulevard on College Avenue North. The pole needs to be placed in the boulevard to a I low transfer trucks to clear the entrance into SuperAmerica. After discussion, the Counc i I agreed to a I low the placement of the power pole in the westerly edge of the boulevard. Add it i ana I I y, the pole should be a minimum of 8' North of the proposed placement. CLERK/ADMINISTRATOR REPORTS: 1) Ken Hiemenz applied to f i I I the vacancy on the planning commission. Rieke made a motion to appoint Ken Hiemenz to the planning commission; seconded by Sadlo. Ayes: Loso, Dehler, Sadlo, Rieke. Nayes: None. Motion Carried. 2) Bills Payable - Rieke made a motion to approve the following bills: ABC printing - Centennial Banners $ 1, 100; KCLD - Centennial Advertising; St. Joseph Volunteer Fire Department - Lake Region Meeting $55.20. The motion was seconded by Sadlo. Ayes: Loso, Dehler, Sadlo, Rieke. Nayes: None. Motion Carried. ADJOURN: Sadlo made a motion to adjourn at 9:00 p.m. ; seconded by Rieke.
