I I . MEMBERS PRESENT: Mayor Steven Dehler; Members of the Counc i I Leo Sadlo, Bob Loso, Stephanie Hazen. Clerk/Administrator Rachel Stapleton. OTHERS PRESENT: Stuël.rt Goldschen, .Judy Weyrens, Mike HëI.zen, Denise Beigbeder, Mark Zimmer, Dale Schneider, Dianne Schneider, Paul and Karen Kremer, Rick Heid, Gerry Klaphake, Tony Heid. PUBLIC HEARING: Ma.yor Dehler ca I led a pub I i c hearing to order at 7:00 p.m. to gël.ther informël.tion from the pub I i c citizens, on community development, housing and public facility needs in the City. Mayor Dehler discussed the results of a. survey of the residents which indicated that the citizens feel there is a need for providing a more consistent flow of water to their homes. Many of them expressed concern of 10\" water pressure, particulël.rly in summe r. The residents discussed their feelings with the Council when the survey was done, and expressed their CQncerns on the survey. They felt that there is a. need for ample storage of water in Qrder to provide consistent and adequate flow Qf water to a. I I the properties in the City. SëI.d I 0 stated that plans to instël.ll needed mains hël.ve been made after studying the location a.nd size of the existing mains. Street work, in conjunction with install ing the mains would include curb .3nd jjpJtter, according to City stël.ndards. Mayor Dehler opened the floor for any questions. Q. MiKe Hazen a.sked if the City has decided on the shël.pe ëI.nd size of tower. A. Plans have been made for one which is like Sauk Centre's. It would be 10vJ in vandalism and maintenël.nce. The size wi I I be 500,000 ga I Ions, which would provide for the current water needs of the Ci ty. Q. Mike Hazen asked if the 500,000 would be ëI.degua te for growth. A. The proposed size is the recommended size for our current needs, but should be adequate to provide service for some time. PI a.ns for the future include also, a new we I I field. One of our we II s is very dirty and we may need to abandon it. A treatment fël.cility and an additional tower would be added also, as growth overtaxes QUI' systems. Q. Whël. t would be put on the tower? A logo perhaps? A. Various logos and stël.tements were discussed by the Counci I. Q. How will the City pay for its portion of the project? The City has $200.00 saved through the pa.st yeël.rs, to provide seed money for wa.ter needs. A I so, the City has installed a new we I I, and water valves and mains in the recent past.
