Pursuant to due ca II and notice thereof. the City Counc i I for I
the City of St. Joseph met in Specia.l Session on Tuesday,
August. 20, 1991 ëI.t 7:00 p.m. in t.he St. Joseph City Ha.l I .

Present: Mayor Steve Dehler,
Ross Rieke, Stephanie Hazen. Deput.y ClerK .Judy Weyrens.

Ot.hers Present: Stuart Goldschen.
The purpose of this meeting \v ëI. s to revie\l/, ëldjust ëI.nd ba I ëI.nce
the proposed budget and to set the levy for the 1992 budget.
After discussing the proposed revenues and expenditures,
Hazen made a motion t.o set t.he tax levy at $228,112. The
motion \vël. s seconded by Rieke.
Ayes: Deh I er, Rieke, HëI.z en.
Nayes: None. Motion carried 3:0.
During reviewal of the budget, the Counc i I discussed the
election process, equipment ëI.nd poll ing places. Both the
Fire Department and election judges requested the Council to
consider relocating Precinct #2 (Precinct #2 I oca. ted in Fi re
Ha I I ) . It was expressed t hël. t should a ca. I I be received
during an election, it would be disruptive to the election
process and a I so could deter the Fire Department in their I
response time. Rieke mël.de a motion to authorize the ClerK's
Office to seek alternative locations for Precinct #2. The
motion was seconded by Hazen.

Nayes: None. Motion cël.rried 3:0.
During the a.bsence of the City Clerk, Dehler mël.de ëI. motion to
authorize Deputy Clerk, Judy Weyrens, to sign City documents
as needed; seconded by Hazen.
Ayes: Deh I er, Hazen, Rieke.
Nayes: None. Motion cël.rried 3:0.
Due to other commitments, Mayor Dehler ha.d to lea.ve. Those
present generally agreed to continue the budget process at
the next regular counc i I meeting.
Rieke mël.de a motion to adjourn at 8:50 p. m. ; seconded by
Hazen.
Ayes: Dehler, Hazen, Rieke.
