SPECIAL MEETING
The Council of the City of St. Joseph met in special session on Monday, March 15,
1976 at 8 p.m. in City Hall.
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Harry J. Knevel. I
Present: Herman Schneider, Bud Reber, Harry Knevel, Steve Dehler, Bob Johnson.
Also Preserl t: Attorney John Knapp.
Absent: Hugo Weyrens, Jr.
Police Chief School
Motion was made by Steve Dehler seconded by Schneider to approve police
chief attendance at Spring Conference April 13 - 14 - 15 - fee $60.00.
poll of votes: Ayes - Dehler, Knevel, Schneider, Reber. Nayes - none.
Approval of Minutes
Minutes of meetings dated Dec. 4 - II - 18, 1975, Jan 15 - 29,
Feb 3 - 5 - 19, 1976 with the following correction to minutes
dated Jan 7, 1976: to read ''Wednesday instead of Thursday" and
to indicate Mayor Knevel arrived at 9:30 p.m. approved on motion
by Reber seconded by Dehler.
Ayes: Schneider, Reber, Dehler, Knevel.
Nayes: None.
R.R. Crossing Relocation Project
A motion was made by Schneider seconded by Reber to approve the
calculation of assessments amortized over a period of 20 years. I
Interest to be 8%. Property owners in special assessment formula
area to be assessed for approximately 40% of city share of cost on
a 90% area, 10% frontage basis.
Ayes: Knevel, Schneider, Reber, Dehler.
Nayes: None.
Bell Telephone Vote
A motion was made by Reber seconded by Schneider to have clerk
cast a ballot in favor of Bell Telephone service proposal.
Ayes: Knevel, Schneider, Reber, Dehler.
Nayes: None.
Resolutions (1)
A motion \vas made by Reber, seconded by Dehler, that the following
resolutions be adopted, that they appear in the Resolution Book
and be made a part of these minutes:
Resolution No. 1976-B
A Resolution requiring ParallelParking on CSAH 2.
Ayes: Schneider, Reber, Dehler, Knevel.
Nayes: None
Carried. This resolution appears as Resolution No. 1976-B in
Resolution Book No. 1

Resolution No. 1976-C
A resolution approving plans, specs, etc. for improvement I
of CSAH 2
Ayes: Schneider, Reber, Dehler, Knevel.
Nayes - None.
Carried. This Resolution appears as Resolution 1976-C in
Resolution Book No.1.
