Joseph met in special session on Tuesday, February 14, 1978 at 7:30 p.m. - in City Hall. Members Present: Mayor Hugo B. Weyrens; Councilmen, Herman Schneider, Bud Reber, Steve Dehler, Mike Husen. Clerk Bob Johnson; Attorney Tom Jovanovich; Engineer Joe Bettendorf. others Present: James Landwehr, Don Landwehr. Purpose of Meeting: To open bids on the East Side Improvement Project No. 77-2311. Cloud ----- 472,869.00 9] Mueller Pipeliners - New Brighton ----- 477,799.43 10] Nodlund Associates, Alexandria -------- 478,478.00 11] Alexandria Concrete - Alexandria ------ 485,024.78 12] Minn Kota Excavating - Mpls. ---------- 495,731.74 13] Johnson Bros Corp - Litchfield -------- 497,971.50 After all bids were opened, acknowledged and recorded Mayor Weyrens informed bidders present the announcement of bid award would be made sometime in the following 10 days after tabulations by the engineer and all legal documents and questions have been examined by the City Attorney. A motion was made by Schneider seconded by Reber to close bid opening at 7:50 p.m. Ayes: Schneider, Reber, Dehler, Husen, Weyrens. Nayes: None The Council re-convened at 7:55 p.m. 6th Ave & Able st Project Report: Engineer Bettendorf presented a preliminary engineering report on the 6th Ave SE and East Able st. improvement project. Material relating to a feasibility report were presented. Some assessment estimates and methods were reviewed. Restoration and sodding were also discussed. No final decisions were made at this time. Curb and gutter question to receive further study and review after area residents have submitted the petition for improve- ment currently being circulated in the improvement area. civil Defense Seminar: Attendance at a Conference on Natural Disasters at Arden Hills on Friday, March 10, 1978 by Art Reber was approved on motion by Dehler seconded by Husen. Ayes: Schneider, Reber, Dehler, Husen, Weyrens. Nayes: None gnr-:. ,-' V Legislative Action Conference: A motion was made by Husen seconded by Dehle to approve the Mayor's attendance at the League of Cities Legislative Action Conference in st. Paul on Wednesday, March 1, 1978. Ayes: Schneider, Reber, Dehler, Husen, Weyrens Nayes: None Bocce Ball: A motion was made by Reber seconded by Schneider to submit a request for the governor's free Bocce Ball game set. Ayes: Schneider, Reber, Dehler, Husen, Weyrens. Nayes: None Adjournment: A motion to adjourn was made by Schneider seconded by Reber at 9:20 p.m. Ayes: Schneider, Reber, Dehler, Husen, Weyrens.
