Pursuant to due call and notice thereof the City Council of the City of St.
Joseph met in special session on Thursday, March 28, 1978 at 7:30 p.m.
Hembers Present: Hayor Hugo B. Weyrens; Councilmen, Herman Schneider, Bud Reber, I
Steve Dehler, Mike Husen; Clerk Bob Johnson.
Purpose of Meeting: Joint meeting with Park Board and Recreational Assn. members
to examine projections and plans for Millstream Park development. Present-
ation made by Ray Brandenburger, Park Board chairman and Bill Lorentz,
Park Board member.
Installation of Lights at Softball Park: Information and cost factors presented by
James Brummer relating to softball field lighting.
Discussions held relating to 1 or 2 softball field lighting installation.
In-Kind grant ~tch may commence any time. Grant funds may not be
allocated until received.
Rec. Assn. decided to light one field with their funds available. Des-
ignate as in-kind contribution. Grant funds then used for second field
lighting. (at least $7500.00)
City to communicate with Robert Warnert in California to request use of
his land adjo~ng Millstream Park for additional parki~ Rec. Assn. or
Park Board to provide parking data for contact ~d th Harnert.
Park Board to prepare allocation schedule for grant fund disbursement.
A motion was made by Schneider seconded by Dehler to approve Lorentz I
travel to Brainerd ~Tith Park Board chairman Ray Brandenburger for meeting
with DAR representatives on Friday, fJIarch 31, 1978.
Ayes: Weyrens, Schneider, Reber, Dehler, Husen.
Nayes: None.
