Pursuant to due call and notice thereof the City Council of the City of St.
Joseph met in special session on Thursday, March 30, 1978 at 7:30 p.m. in City
Hall.
I Members Present: Mayor Hugo B. vJeyrens; Councilmen; Herman Schneider, Bud Reber,
Steve Dehler, Mike Husen; Clerk Bob Johnson; Police Chief Bill Lorentz;
Attorney Tom Jovanovich.
Police Report: Chief Lorentz presented the monthly police report. A report of
t1tlO recent ~ burglaries also presented by Lorentz.
Young Leave of Absence: A motion was made bv Dehler seconded by Reber to approve
the Miiitaryleave of absence of patr~lmen Jeff Young for a period of-6
months as requested.
Ayes: Weyrens, Schneider, Reber, Dehler, Husen.
Nayes: None.
Request placed on file.
Fire Dept. Voice & Tone Pager~: A motion was made by Reber seconded by Schneider
to approve payment of 10 pagers as approved by Fire Chief Mike Loso.
Ayes: Weyrens, Schneider, Reber, Dehler, Husen.
Nayes: None.
Li~or Applications: All Liquor dealers vlill be invited to attend the April 20
council meeting to pick up ne\'1 application forms and review liquor operation
with city council.
I 4th of.July,: Hayor presented report of meeting \,ïith parish board relating to
Parish 4th of July celebration. Parish 4th of July committee members 'dill
attend the April 20 council meeting.
MPO ªeport: Councilmen reported on MPO meeting at Sartell. Information exchanged
by all units of government. Units are currently examining proposed Joint
Powers agreement.
A motion was made by Dehler seconded by Schneider to approve City part-
icipation as a member of MPO.
Ayes: Weyrens, Schneider, Reber, Dehler, Husen.
Nayes: None.
Motion carried.
Baseball Dougouts: Baseball dugout replacement. Cost factors were presented by
Reber. The $1100 per dugout for removal and nev.' construction ,.¡ill be
reviewed. Possible removal by city employees to be considered.
Cl~rk Report: Clerk reported call from County Engineer Bill Rice indicating county
to construct 8' bike paths on both sides of County Rd #2 from city ".'est end
curb line to 1-94, approximately 1 mile S.W. of city.
The annual Board of Review meeting was reported scheduled for May 16 at
8:00 p.m. by the County Assessor office.
New City Census Bureau data was distributed to Council.
Pat Schneider; Pat Schneider, summer rec. director presented some preliminary
I infor~ation on S.ummer ree, program. Additional information to be obtained
on S1:l1m program.
A motion \1as made by Dehler seconded by Schneider to approve City
expenditure of $50.00 tOvJard sponsorship of the 14-17 yr old baseball
league. Ayes: Weyrens, Schneider, Reber, Dehler, Husen. Nayes: none.

Bocce Ball: Clerk reported on official Council resolution documentation had been I

Kenko, Inc. City ,..!aiting for Kenko, Inc. East Side Droject contractor to
submit nerformance and ~;ayment bonds and insurance coverage necessary under
project requirements.
