CITY OF ST. JOSEPH, MINNESOTA
The City Council of the City of St. Joseph met in special session on Thursday,
I February 24, 1977 at 7:30 p.m. in City Hall.
Members Present Mayor Hugo B. Weyrens; Councilmen, Herman Schneider, Bud Reber,
Steve Dehler, Mike Husen; Clerk Bob Johnson.
Also Present 14 city and nearby residents and Irene Reber, Ed Kacures, Mike Loso,
Bill Lorentz.
Minutes Approval Dec 8, Dec 14, Dec 28, Jan 8. A motion was made by Reber
seconded by Husen to approve minutes.
Ayes: Schneider, Reber, Dehler, Husen, W~yrens.
Nayes: None
Fire Chief &
Motorola Rep Fire Chief Mike Loso and Daniel L. Christiansen representative of
the Motorola Corp. presented a communications upgrading for fire dept. Cost
factors and system presented and reviewed by council
Fire Dept membership A motion was made by Reber seconded by Dehler to approve
fire dept application of Roger Beuning.
Ayes: Schneider, Reber, Dehler, Husen, Weyrens.
Nayes: NOne
Honer letter of Resignation Police Chief Bill Lorentz presented a letter of
resignation from the Police Reserve unit submitted by Randy Honer. Leter
I placed on file.
A motion was made by Dehler seconded by Reber to accept Randy Honer resignation
as presented.
Ayes: Weyrens, Dehler, Reber.
Nayes: Husen
Abstaining: Schneider.
Police Institute A motion was made by Dehler seconded by Husen to approve attendance
of Lorentz at Chief's Institute in st. Paul on March 22 - 23 - 24, 1977.
Ayes: Schneider, Reber, Dehler, Husen, Weyrens.
Nayes: None.
Police reserve budget for past 6 month examined and reviewed.
Police Budget A motion was made by Reber seconded by Dehler to postpone re-
schedule of 6 months budget for police reserve to next meeting on March 10,
1977.
Ayes: Reber, Dehler Husen, Weyrens,
Nayes: None
Abstaining: Schneider

St. Pat's Permit A motion was made by Schneider seconded by Husen that parade
chairman to meet with Police Chief for instructions relating to permit
compliance.

City Engineers Cloverdale Estate plat examined street and sewer plats - drainage
question examined. Street intersection re-alignment change proposed. Lot
size variances to be considered.
Statement of
Assurances
General Revenue A motion was made by Reber seconded by Schneider to authorize
mayor signature of Statement of Assurances for General Revenue Sharing Entitle-
ment Period 8.

Engineering
Contract: A motion was made by Husen seconded by Dehler to approve 1977
Milner W. Carley engineering agreement proposal.

on agenda Meeting approval granted for Dick Taufen attendance at March 1, 1977
ll:30 a.m. Voc Tec trainee program participation reviewed - water and waste-
water plant operation.
Street broom attachment purchase $300 - 400 to be examined.
Police Chief Lorentz Police reserve recruiting questions examined - city residence
question raised.
A motion was made by Dehler seconded by -- to approve purchase of gun by Bud
Reber at $50.00. There was no second to the above motion.
A motion to adjourn was made at 12:20 A.M.
