St Joseph Park Board Meeting
June 22, 2015
6:00 p.m.
Centennial Park
Members Present: John Anderson (Chairman), Terry Thene (Staff Liason), Matt Killian (Councilor
Liason), Andrew Deuhs, Jodi Keehr, Troy Goracke
Call to Order: 6:00 p.m.
Approval of Agenda: Approved
Approval of Minutes: Change to: A small part of the ball park was washed away.
Approved with changes
Treasurers Report: $200,000 in future sales tax money to be used for the new Lake Wobegon Trail.
$30,000 Legacy Grant (Memorial Park) did not happen.
It was mentioned that a large future project may have the Park Dedication Fees
waived.
Liason Reports:
Terry Thene: Mentioned that there has been some vandalism at Centennial Park. The Little Libraries
location have been decided upon and all the locating of utilities have been completed.
Matt Killian: The Old Kennedy School has been purchased. The building will continue to be leased by
Little Saints Academy. Mayor Rick Schultz mentioned that he would like to see the Park Board schedule
or drive the activities within this building. He stated there may possibly be an office within said building
for the park board chairman.
Old Business:
A. Park Board reviewed Park Board Survey – some survey comments were read
B. John will speak with Judy about the Millstream Park shelter
C.
D. Little Libraries were discussed earlier in the meeting
E. Steve Heymanns will be at the next meeting to discuss his wildflower planting. It will be open to
neighbors so they know what will be taking place. The Newsleader will feature this and the neighbors
of Klinefelter will be sent a notification of the meeting.
F. Jodi expressed concern about not wanting a dog park in Northland Addition. Some residents of
Northland Addition have made complaints to Jodi about said dog park. John will approach the city
council to see if the land can allocated for a park. Terry has 500 feet of old fencing to use for this
project.
G. John and Matt are thinking of a 6 hole course. Terry and Matt are going to line up holes and get a
tentative lay out
H. No old business was brought up at this time.
New Business: There was no new business to discuss.
