Members Present: Herman Schneider, Acting Mayor; Councilmen Bud Reber, Steve Dehler, Mike Husen; (absent: Mayor Weyrens - vacation) Clerk Bob Johnson. Others Present: Fire Chief Mike Loso Communications report: salesman change will delay final installation of motorola equipment. Report on St. Wendel request for consideration of city fire protection for 18 southern sections. All cost data was submitted tp St Wendel. Insurance survey report presented. New rating expected within 30 days. Fire inspections report expected to be completed in October. A motion was made by Husen seconded by Dehler to approve Fire Dept. appli- cation for beer license for Sat Aug 27 fund raising party. Ayes: Reber, Dehler, Husen, Schneider. Nayes: Nooe Chief Conference: A motion was made by Dehler seconded by Husen to approve fire chief attendance at chiefs conference at Brooklyn Park on October 20-21-22, 1977. . Pager Report: Chief indicated fire board favored further investigation regards fire dept voice and tone pagers. Further cost data and Town Board approval to be obtained. A motion was made by Dehler seconded by Husen to approve closing half block for fire fund raiser on Aug 27, 1977. Ayes: Reber, Dehler, Husen, Schneider. Nayes: None Dick Taufen Maint. Report: Tree program - replanting programs discussed - further information to be obtained. Heating unit for warming house receiving consideration. Street calcium - salt materials for winter maintenance to further examine costs etc. Defective sidewalk at church reported - parish authorities to be notified. A motion was made by Husen seconded by Dehler to approve pickup repair - brakes and shocks Ayes: Reber, Dehler, Husen, Schneider. Nayes: Nooe. Pole Bldg Wiring: A motion was made by Dehler seconded by Husen to approve wiring in pole bldg. for truck winter starting. Ayes: Reber, Dehler, Husen, Schneider. Nayes: None Water lines in campground and softball park to be blown out for winter by city. Cable at park question re-examined - cable to be removed by maintenance crew. 7Fl;1 '" 'LÌ Rand~ Schumacker: Discussion of grant programs - funds available. Park evelopment - Lawcon Grant _pre-application to submitted. A motion was made by Husen seconded by Dehler to authorize Park Board to meet with Randy Schumacker and prepare Lawcon Grant pre-application for Millstream Park development. Ayes: Reber, Dehler, Husen, Schneider. Nayes: None. Meeting to be scheduled by Park Beard with Randy Schumacker next week. Police Chief: Police car screen (used) to be sold to highest bidder approved on motion by Dehler seconded by Husen Ayes: Reber, Dehler, Husen, Schneider. Nayes: None Missing bicycle sale program discussed. Police report for July presented by Chief Lorentz. Attorney Knapp: Land purchase - survey to Knapp from Engineer. Amendment to Ordinance No. 55 presented by Attorney Knapp for council study. Knapp resignation to become official on Sept. 1, 1977. A motion was made by Dehler seconded by Husen to approve purchase of a water system print at $250.00 Ayes: Reber, Dehler, Husen, Schneider. Nayes: None. Regional Meeting: Minnesota League of Cities regional meeting invormation presented. Council action to be taken at meeting on Sept. 8. Planning Commission Appointment: Appointment of Planning Commission member to fill vacancy to be made on Sept 8, 1977. Notice to persons interested in curb and gutter installation should call Ci ty Hall.
