Joseph met in session on Thursday, June 19, 1980 at 7:30 p.m. in Ci ty Hall. Members Present: Mayor Hugo B. Weyrens; Councilmen: Herman schneider, Bud Reber, I Steve Dehler, Mike Husen; City Clerk, Bob Johnson. Others Present: Police Chief Bill Lorentz, Engineer Joe Bettendorf (9:00 p.m.). Cards of Thanks: Mayor Weyrens presented numerous cards of thank you from many Sisters of the Order of st. Benedict for the highway billboard express- ing the City's thank you to the Benedictines on their 1500 birthday. Minutes Approved: Minutes of May 15, May 22, and June 5 were approved on motion by Schneider seconded by Husen. Ayes: Weyrens, Schneider, Reber, Dehler, Husen. Nayes: None Motion carried. Millstream Park Trench: Millstream Park trench to be leveled with mound left around parking area perimeter. Fence at ball park to be re-examined. Police Report: May police report presented and examined by Council. Loitering on street problem reviewed. Police Uniform Allowance: A motion was made by Reber seconded by Schneider to allow Pat Murphy uniform allowance from his starting date in lieu of the City's initial uniform purchase. Ayes: Weyrens, Schneider, Reber, Dehler, Husen. Nayes: None Motion carried. Beer License Approval: A motion was made by Dehler seconded by Husen to approve I beer license of Parish for 4th of July celebration with stipulations: a) security measures to be the same as last year, b) license to be picked up at Police Chief office. Ayes: Weyrens, Schneider, Reber, Dehler, Husen. Nayes: None Motion carried. Park Grass Cutting: A motion was made by Reber seconded by Schneider to have clerk contact Peggy Schloemer regards park grass cutting. If Schloemer is not available clerk to contact Ray Brandenburger for part time grass cutting at $3.10 per hour. Ayes: Weyrens, Schneider, Reber, Dehler, Husen. Nayes: None Motion carried. Attorney Fee: A motion was made by Husen seconded by Reber to approve attorney fee increase of $5.00 per hour effective July 1, 1980. Ayes: Weyrens, Schneider, Reber, Dehler, Husen. Nayes: None Motion carried. APO Dues: A motion was made by Schneider seconded by Dehler to approve the 10% membership assessment increase for 1981 based on 1970 census. Ayes: Weyrens, Schneider, Reber, Dehler, Husen. Nayes: None Motion carried. City Engineer Report: Curb installation proposals reviewed - need for catch basin I cited by engineer - plans and specs approved on motion by Schneider seconded by Reber. Ayes: Weyrens, Schneider, Reber, Dehler, Husen. Nayes: None Motion carried. 985 Bills Approved: A motion by Reber seconded by Dehler to approve mileage and expenses of Councilman Husen and Clerk Bob Johnson for attendance at Small cities Day at the League of cities Conference in Duluth in the I amounts of $133.80 and $58.86. Ayes: Weyrens, Schneider, Reber, Dehler, Husen. Nayes: None Motion carried. 5-Man Board: Discussed general city affairs - traffic study needs reviewed. Mihelich Granite firm development plans impact examined. Adjournment: A motion was made by Schneider seconded by Reber to adjourn at 11:00 p.m. Ayes: Weyrens, schneider, Reber, Dehler, Husen.
