Pursuant to due call and notice thereof the City Council of the City of st. Joseph
met in session on Thursday, September 18, 1980 at 7:30 p.m. in City Hall.
Members Present: Mayor Hugo B. Weyrens; Councilmen Herman Schneider, steve Dehler,
Mike Husen; Clerk Bob Johnson. (Absent: Councilman Bud Reber, out of
town. )
Minutes Approved: The council meeting minutes of August 21, 1980 were approved
on motion by Schneider seconded by Dehler.
Ayes: Weyrens, Schneider, Dehler, Husen.
Nayes: None Motion carried.
Cloverdale Replatting: Don Landwehr, representing Landmark Realty, was present
regards the replatting of Cloverdale Townhouses Lots 1-2-3-4, Block 4,
Cloverdale Estates 2nd Addition. Replatting process reviewed.
Public Hearing: A motion was made by Husen seconded by Schneider to conduct a
public hearing for replatting of Cloverdale Estates Townhouses, Lots
1-2-3-4, Block 4, Cloverdale Estates 2nd Addition, on Thursday, October
23, 1980 at 7:30 p.m. in City Hall.
Ayes: Weyrens, Schneider, Dehler, Husen.
Nayes: None Motion carried.
Park Board Ordinance: Attorney Jovanovich reported he has not completed work on
park board ordinance. Council action required.
Annexation Petitions: Harvey Reber, Gene Scherer, (homestead (101,200 s.f.),
Randy Bush, Alfred zimmer - annexation petitions were reviewed by the
City Council.
A motion was made by Schneider seconded by Dehler to approve the above
petitions for annexation.
Ayes: Weyrens, Schneider, Dehler, Husen.
Nayes: None Motion carried.
Petition of Annexation withdrawal: A motion was made by Husen seconded by Schneider
to approve withdrawal of the following property from petition of annexation
as requested: Susan Roske property - SW~ NE~ Sec. 10, Township 124, Range 29.
Ayes: Weyrens, Schneider, Dehler, Husen.
Nayes: None Motion carried.
Resolution of withdrawal placed in the annexation file - Roske property.
Council Meeting Change: A motion was made by Husen seconded by Dehler to change
the October 23 council meeting to October 30.
Ayes: Weyrens, Schneider, Dehler, Husen.
Nayes: None Motion carried.
street Lighting Approval: A motion was made by Schneider seconded by Dehler to
recommend Clerk submit a letter of approval to Northern States Power
Company authorizing the introduction of the 3 - 250 W Hi pressure sodium
lights, located at the intersection of County Road #75 and #2, into the
city street lighting system.
Ayes: Weyrens, Schneider, Dehler, Husen.
Nayes: None Motion carried.

Election Canvass: A motion Ivas made by Husen seconded by Dehler to approve the
primary election of September 9, 1980 as per canvass and certification
of election judges.
Ayes: Weyrens, Schneider, Dehler, Husen.
Nayes: None Motion carried.
Fire Chief Conference: A motion was made by Schneider seconded by Dehler to
approve the attendance of Fire Chief Loso at fire conference in Duluth
on october 16-17-18.
Ayes: Weyrens, Schneider, Dehler, Husen.
Nayes: None Motion carried.
Planning Report: Variance request of Al Kapsner, representing the st. Joseph
;'lutual Insurance Company, was reviewed. Hearing to be held on October 6,
1980 - 7:30 p.m.
Traffic Signs: street Commissioner Dehler presented plans for additional traffic
control slgnlng. Further study to be made prior to next meeting. Cost
factors to be determined.
Hockey Association: Request as submitted at Revenue Sharing hearing to be considered.
Adjournment: A motion was made by Schneider seconded by Husen to adjourn at
11:30 p.m.
