Joseph met in session on Thursday, January 21, 1982 at 7:30 p.m. in City Hall. Members Present: Mayor Hugo B. Weyrens; Councilmen: Herman Schneider, Bud Reber, I Steve Dehler, Mike Husen. City Clerk, Bob Johnson. Others Present: Sr. Kathleen Kalinowski, Sr. Colleen Haggerty, OSB,presented a model and project review of the current st. Benedict's Chapel renovation project. Fire Chief: Fire Chief Bill Wasner was present regards air pac change-over as per (8:00 p.m.)proposed OSHA safety requirements. 1982 budget item: 6 pacs @ 200.00 each - $1,200.00 total cost. Air Pacs: A motion was made by Husen seconded by Reber to approve conversion of six air pacs. Ayes: Weyrens, schneider, Reber, Dehler, Husen. Nayes: None Motion carried. Face Masks: A motion was made by Schneider seconded by Dehler to approve purchase of 30 face masks at an estimated cost of $150.00 (1982 budget item). Ayes: Weyrens, schneider, Reber, Dehler, Husen. Nayes: None Motion carried. Mike Loso Retired: Chief Wasner reported Mike Loso, former chief, as officially retired from the Fire Department, on January 12, 1982, as an active member. The retirement of Mike Loso as chief and active member of the Fire Department was accepted on motion by Reber seconded by Husen. I Ayes: Weyrens, Schneider, Reber, Dehler, Husen. Nayes: None Motion carried. st. Pat's Parade: Attorney Tom Jovanovich and Police Chief Lorentz were present at 8:30 p.m. Problems of past st. Pat Day parades were cited by the Police Chief. The Council expressed their concern after reviewing police reports and complaints from citizens opposing a st. Patrick's Day parade. Minutes: A motion was made by Husen seconded by Reber to approve minutes of January 7, 1982 as presented. Ayes: Weyrens, Schneider, Reber, Dehler, Husen. Nayes: None Motion carried. senior Center/Meeting Room Chairs: Council approved the purchase of 50 Shaw- Walker chairs after examination of samples, etc. on motion by Dehler seconded by Reber. Total cost - $2,397.00. Ayes: Weyrens, Schneider, Reber, Dehler, Husen. Nayes: None Motion carried. Vacuum Cleaner: Purchase approved on motion by Reber seconded by Husen. Trade in cost - $350.00. Ayes: Weyrens, Schneider, Reber, Dehler, Husen. Nayes: None Motion carried. Entrance Mats: On motion by Schneider seconded by Dehler the Council approved I purchase of two entrance mats at City Hall. Total cost approx. $99.00. Ayes: Weyrens, Schneider, Reber, Dehler, Husen. Nayes: None Motion carried. 1088 Hall Project Change Order #3: Hall renovation project change order #3 was approved on motion by Reber seconded by Dehler ($300.60). Ayes: Weyrens, Schneider, Reber, Dehler, Husen. Nayes: None Motion carried. I Police Matters: 1) Parking fine schedule to remain without change. 2) 4 x 8 file cabinet - $45.00 - purchase approved on motion by Dehler seconded by Husen. Ayes: Weyrens, Schneider, Reber, Dehler, Husen. Nayes: None Motion carried. Stearns League Report: Councilman schneider presented a Stearns County League report: 1) Tour of paynesville Hospital and Nursing Home. 2) Proposed By-Laws update. 3) Dues payment approved on motion by Schneider seconded by Husen for 1982 ( $25 . 00) . Ayes: Weyrens, schneider, Reber, Dehler, Husen. Nayes: None Motion carried. Beer, Cigarette, Entertainment/ Amusement Licenses: A motion was made by Schneider seconded by Husen to approve the following beer, cigarette, and entertainment/amusement license applications for 1982: Et Cetera, Etc. Inc. , st. Joe Pharmacy, stueve's Garage, st. Joseph Self Service, Linnemann's Store, Versa-Vend Vending, Inc. , Loso's Store, st. Joseph Meat Market, st. Joseph Liquor Shoppe, Hollander's Country Store, Bo Diddley's, Legion Club, Frisky Bait shop, Sal's Bar & Cafe, LaPlayette, Midway Bar, El Paso Club & Lanes, Kay's Kitchen. Ayes: Weyrens, schneider, Reber, Dehler, Husen. Nayes: None Motion carried. Planning Report: Councilman Husen presented information and future proposed plans for development of :1:1 th Avenue Southeast and Northeast street access to County Highway #75 and other abutting areas. Police Vehicle: On motion by Reber seconded by Husen the Counâl approved publication of bid for a 1982 police vehicle. Ayes: Weyrens, schneider, Reber, Dehler, Husen. Nayes: None Motion carried.
