Joseph met in session on Thursday, March 4, 1982 at 7:30 p.m. in City Hall. Members Present: Mayor Hugo B. Weyrens; Councilmen: Bud Reber, steve Dehler, I Mike Husen. City Clerk, Bob Johnson. City Treasurer, Leo Sadlo. (Absent: Councilman Herman schneider, recuperating after hospital stay.) Others Present: Kristy Neu, Linda Reisinger, highschool students observing Council proceedures. Treasurer Report: Treasurer Sadlo's report was approved on motion by Reber seconded by Dehler. Ayes: Weyrens, Reber, Dehler, Husen. Nayes: None Motion carried. Minutes: Minutes of the February 18, 1982 Council meeting were approved on motion by Husen seconded by Reber. Ayes: Weyrens, Reber, Dehler, Husen. Nayes: None Motion carried. Bills: Bills were presented, examined and approved on motion by Dehler seconded - by Husen. Ayes: Weyrens, Reber, Dehler, Husen. Nayes: None Motion carried. Hall Project Report: A meeting has been scheduled for Tuesday, March 9 at 4:30 p.m. with Rick Olsen, Bud Reber and Bob Johnson to make a corrections inspection of City Hall renovation project. I Fire Department By-Law Revisions: Council to review -Town has copies. Act on next meeting on March 18, 1982. Garbage Contract Matters: Council to review garbage contract prior to termination date. Green Thumb Application: A motion was made by Husen seconded by Dehler to approve City application for participation in the Green Thumb program this summer. Ayes: Weyrens, Reber, Dehler, Husen. Nayes: None Motion carried. Rec. Assn. Licenses: A motion was made by Husen seconded by Dehler to approve gambling license, 3.2 on-sale and cigarette license for Rec. Assn. Ayes: Weyrens, Reber, Dehler, Husen. Nayes: None Motion carried. Minnesota Directory: Purchase of Minnesota Directory approved on motion by Reber seconded by Dehler. Ayes: Weyrens, Reber, Dehler, Husen. Nayes: None Motion carried. Rec. Assn. Director Appointment: A motion was made by Husen seconded by Dehler to appoint the Council representative also a director of Recreational Assn. Ayes: Weyrens, Husen, Dehler. I Abstaining: Reber Absent: schneider Motion carried. Office Equipment: The following office equipment purchases were approved on motion 1091 by Reber seconded by Husen: 1) desk organizer 2) records center 3) nine drawer cabinet I (estimated cost - $235.00 - 1981 Capital Outlay funds) Ayes: Weyrens, Reber, Dehler, Husen. Nayes: None Motion carried. Swim Program Report: 1982 summer swim program report was presented by Council Recreation Program Director Reber. A meeting with st. Ben's Physical Education Department representative Margaret stanoff has been scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 9 to establish pool time and operational costs. Planning Report: Council representative on Planning Commission presented a brief _ 0--_ review of !'Ü,¡ÜG lot-line concepts. plans for ,.ðÚ'ownhouses in Cloverdåle ~<'o ~ ~~ Estates 2nd Addition also presented. Townhouse purchasers will own front ~"'t- . ø . )~$ and rear yard with each unit. Public hearing to be scheduled. ,~ - øP~ ~r Recreation Program: Pat Schneider, summer recreation director,was present to review last summer's program and program planned for summer 1982. Schneider recommended reduction in $808.00 budget amount for supplies, etc. to $100.00 to allow for a second assistant for the summer program. schneider to recommend persons to be hired. Program to start June 7 and finish on July 30, 1982. The school district community education program may not be available for this summe~'s program assistance. st. Joe "Joes": six or more members of the st. Joseph "Joes" baseball team were on hand as team manager Pat schneider presented an application for a gambling license.
