MI~mTES OF TEE MEETING OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL, MARCH 1, 1955
The Village Council of the Village of St. Joseph met in session at
I the Village Hall on March 1, 1955 at the hour of 8 PM. All members
of the council were present except Trustee Reynold Kellner.
Melvin Martin¿representing the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5773
askedfor a reduction of the V.F.W. personal property tax. The Couenil
decided that a mistake must have been made tri and a check will be made
with the assessor andthe auditor.
V\ Lawrence Loso, owner of the Midway Bar asked about the No. 1 liquor
license of the Village. He requested that number on his license if
\ that was possible. Loso also asked about the Su~day opening of his
establisp~ënt. !he VilJ.age attorney, John Knapp told the council
they could not give opening permission as they had no authority in thot
matter.
The minutes of the meeting of February 3 were read and motion made
by Julian Botz and seconded by Herman Scr~eider to accept theminutes
as read.
The following bills were presented for payment:

Motion madeby Julia~ Botz and seconded by Herman Schneider to allow
and pay all bills.
The Council instructed the Chielf of Police to pick up the Liquor
license No. i from Ray Schindler if the balance of the fee was not
paid. Julian Botz made that motion seconded by Herman Scrilleider.
