JOSEPH ~~~ 59 ~lIl'mTES OF THE MEETING OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL, ~~, 1955 The Village Council ßß the Village of St. Joseph met in session at I c;ft1 fi,-w! the Village Hall on ~, ·5, 1955 at the hour of 8 Pr>1. All members of the council were present except ~rustee Reynold Kellner. Claude Menzhuber and Losy Walz owners of the El Paso Club presented their complaints to the council in respect to the violation of rules governing Liquor Licenses. In view of the fact of their high tax of their license they llsked for "protection" against other sources. They asked about the former rule of no Sunday opening also. s Propos·al ,vas made to again warn Glubs to obey. the law in repect to keeping their doors locked, which is one of thE requirements of a club license, liquor or beer license. Also that their sales are to be to members only. Christ Walz, carèèaker of the village dump asked for new closing .hours, from Saturday a~tBrnQon at 4:30 FM to Monday morning at 7 AÞí. Notice to be published in the St. Joseph Dispatch. , Mike Reber asked about building curb at his property as flying stones from cars were thrown on his lawn and on his house. Property is to be surveyed before curb is to be put in. I The letter from the welfare board concerning Tony Schneider, now in I Montana was tabled until residency in St. Jseph is further established. The bill from Dr. Walfred was read and on suggestion from the council the clerk is to ask Dr. Walfred to send his bill to the county. The bill was for the care of John Pfannenstein. vlelfare board. The minutes of the meeting of March 1 were read and motion made by Julian Botz to accept the minutes as read. Seconded by HeTInan Schneider. The following bills were presented for payment: ".. The second was made by Herman Schneider. Herman Schneider made a motion to change the rate for purchase of water meter to Š30.00, installation included, flat rate. Seconded by Julian Botz . The change itlaS made after di scus sion and adding of costs of the meter and installation. The costs added up to $30.00. Fire Chief Roman Zwack asked the council for a new ho~e on· the booster pump on the Fire truck. He explainedthat it had braken at the recent fire in an emergency as well as several times before. Council reco- mended that new couplings on all joints be tried first. Resolution from the State Highway Department was presented and ac- cepted. It did not involve the village in any way.
