MI1TUTES OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL MEETING MET ON MARCH 11, 1960
The Village Council of the Village of st. Joseph met in regular sessjon
on March 11, 1960, with all members present.

A group of residents for and against fluoridation were in attendance.
- Mayor Zwack called the meeting to order and requested both factions
on flyoridation limit their time on the floor.,
Gladys Schneider present ed a petition containing 223 signers demand-
ing the council discontinue fluoridation.
Mr. Harold Knevel acted as speaker for the group favoring fluoridation.
Dr. Kelly stated he is willing to arrange a dental health program
with Dr. Jordan of the Minnesota state Board of Health for all residents.
Attorney Knapp again gave the Attorney General's opinion regarding
a vote on fluoridation as requested.
Mr. Knevel requested an educational program be endorsed.
After conSiderable discussion by both groups - the council decided to
proceed with the regular order of business.~
Minutes of the February meeting were read and approved on a motion by
Dave Ffannenstein and seconded by Herman Schneider.
A motion was made by Herman Schneider and seoonded by Dave Pfannenstein

A motion was made by Dave Pfannenstein and seconded by Herman Schneider
to tablethe fluoridation issue.
Engineer R. W. Teague presented his sewerage report to the council.

allow for further stU~Of the Engineer's report and to evaluate the

A request for village aid was presented in behalf of Bernadine Court.
A motion was made by Herman Schneider and seconded by Christ Pallansch
that the request be tabled until the next meeting as the council
felt the problem required discussion with the applicant or member -
of the applicants family~ r
~Motion to adjourn was made at 11'30 p.m~ -
Councilman Dave Pfannenstein presented a verbal regignation to the
counc . ,action was taken.
